Kulti By Mariana Zapata

Rating: ★ ★ ★ ★ ★

Book synopsis:

Trust me, I’ve wanted to punch you in the face a time or five.”

When the man you worshipped as a kid becomes your coach, it’s supposed to be the greatest thing in the world. Keywords: supposed to.

It didn’t take a week for 27-year-old Sal Casillas to wonder what she’d seen in the international soccer icon – why she’d ever had his posters on her wall or ever envisioned marrying him and having super-playing soccer babies.

Sal had long ago gotten over the worst non-break-up in the history of imaginary relationships with a man who hadn’t known she’d existed. So she isn’t prepared for this version of Reiner Kulti who shows up to her team’s season: a quiet, reclusive shadow of the explosive, passionate man he’d once been.

✨✨✨✨

My Review:

I’m now convinced that Mariana Zapata writes the best slow burn ever and the slowest slow burn but It’s so worth it at the end. I loved this book so much, I think this book took the same spot as wait for me this is how much I loved this book.

I love Sal so much, she workes so hard to get to her position and she works other jobs too. She never depends on anyone and she’s kind and hopeful. Sal’s character is so caring and loving even at the begging with the rude players and kulti, I loved that about her. I thought Dallas from wait for it is grumpy but oh boy Kulti is the definition of a grumpy character. In the beginning, he is rude and so grumpy but slowly he became one of my favorite book boyfriends. I loved him so much and how he cares for Sal in his ways.

Sal and Kulti relationship is such a roller coaster and such a beautiful one at the same time. I loved how they slowly opened up to one another and cared for each other so much. and there are those little moments between them that make my heart melt.

Sal relationship with her father is so beautiful I loved them so much and her father and Kulti is the cutest thing ever. This book also discusses how the female players are treated differently and how their treatment is unfair.

this one romance was slower than wait for me but there’s not a single part where I got bored with the book I couldn’t stop reading and it was so worth the wait. I can’t wait to read her other books, Mariana Zapata is becoming one of my favorite authors♥️.

Wait For It By Mariana Zapata

Rating: ★ ★ ★ ★ ★

Book synopsis:

If anyone ever said being an adult was easy, they hadn’t been one long enough. Diana Casillas can admit it: she doesn’t know what the hell she’s doing half the time. How she’s made it through the last two years of her life without killing anyone is nothing short of a miracle. Being a grown-up wasn’t supposed to be so hard. With a new house, two little boys she inherited the most painful possible way, a giant dog, a job she usually loves, more than enough family, and friends, she has almost everything she could ever ask for. Except for a boyfriend. Or a husband. But who needs either one of those?

✨✨✨✨

My Review:

This is my first read from Mariana Zapata and omg I loved every second of it and probably this book is one of my favorites read of the year so far. In the beginning, I thought that slow burn is not really for me but once I started this book I couldn’t stop.

I loved the characters in this book so much, I cried and I laughed with them it was such a rollercoaster. I went into this book knowing nothing other than that this book is an age-gap romance.

The amount of love I have for Diana, Dallas, Josh, and Louie is indescribable. Diana is hilarious and I loved her so much, I related to her in many things and I cried and laughed with her. Her relationship with the boys is so beautiful and pure, the way the three of them loved each other unconditionally is beautiful I loved their moments so much, Diana is such a strong woman who can handle herself well and don’t need anybody to stand up for her and this is one of the most things I loved about her and how she cared so deeply to the people she loved.

In the beginning, I didn’t like Dallas so much he is so grumpy at the begging of the book but as the book goes on I loved this man and I want to marry him. He’s such a caring and patient man who cares so much for the people he loves. His relationship with Louie is so beautiful I cried happy tears over them.

This book will make you cry so much and laugh so much within the same chapter and it’s so good. I read this big book in just 2 days because I couldn’t stop and I wanted to know what will happen next with them. I’m so happy that I loved this book and I want to read everything Mariana Zapata writes from now on♥️.
